Son is a little fickle with his crib.

Hello everyone,

It is nice to see such great support here. I have 3 week old frat. twins named Luke and Ava. So far, it has been crazy but worth every minute of our lives. My husband and I love every moment with them.

My daughter so far is an awesome sleeper. She can sleep succesfully every three hours and i1 hour feedings in between. Somehow we have managed to have them sleep in their cribs. Ava stays in her crib 99% of the time.

My son is quite different though. He is able to sleep through the most of the day in his crib. But at night, he needs to stay with me; literally on me throughout the night. We have had to be separated from my husband and daugther for the last week or so because he is so loud at night in their shared room that I had to stay with him in my bedroom. He will wake up every three hours or so and feed well, but we have tried to (with some success) put him back in the crib but he seems most comfortable lying on my chest at night.

Whenever I put him down in his crib at night. It is such a production. It can also be frustrating.

The weird thing about it is. Whenever my mother or my in-laws have taken care of him, he is like the obediant little soldier and has no issues going to bed in his crib.

Are we doing something wrong, or am I spoiling him too much? or.....

Please let me know.
Thanks in advance.

" Congratulations and welcome to twinmommyhood!! I have 3 year old frat boy/girl twins and my son still climbs into bed with me. I have tried everything, but in the end, he just needs time with mom...my advice to you is SLEEP...however and whenever you can. I ALWAYS slept when my twins did...day and night...i needed it to survive...your babies are so small now...they have only been outside of you for three weeks. I found that my daughter was much more independent from birth than my son...boys seem to be very cuddly...go with the flow and dont stress...sleep as much as possible...when it is time for him to sleep alone, because you decide it is time and enough is enough, then he will, until then, he knows that your not ready to give him up...same goes for me...I LIKE sleeping with my kids...its the most natural thing in the world and very comforting...until I cant sleep and everyone gets cranky, then we all go back to sleep in our own beds...LOL "

" Do your children share a crib. Maybe your son misses the noises and movements of his sister? I have boygirl twins and they slept in the same crib until they were nine months old. When we put them in separate cribs we put the cribs right up next to each other so they could still touch and listen to each other. My boy is a little noisier and sleeps lighter than my girl, she seems to sleep through all of his noises. Hang in there, you can do it. "
