Hi Erin!
I had my girls at 33 weeks - Emergency c-section due to pregnancy induced hypertension. They were 4lbs 1oz and 3lbs 9oz They stayed inthe NICU for 13 LOOOOONG days, but were home much sooner than what they tell you (They say givem them til their due date) They both had little tubes intheir noses and a cpap to keep the pressure in their lungs. Abby had to have surfactant put in her lungs because she was struggling a little more. As soonas she had that she did great. They are doing great now (5months later) So IF you have them now, they should be just fine, they may just have to stay in the hospital for a little longer than you do. e-mail me if you have any questions.

Same here, emergenecy c-section, due to high blood pressure/pre-eclampsia. I had my girls at 33 weeks. Kate was 2 lbs., 13ozs, and Emma was 3 lbs. 14 ozs. Kate was in NICU for 7 weeks, and Emma for 4. Same as suzyhopes said, CPAP, oxygen, feeding tubes, etc. They're stonger then you think, and the nurses were amazing. I had slight complications after with blood clots, and continued high blood pressure, but we're all settling in now.
Good luck, you'll ALL do great!

Hi Erin,
I had my girls at 36 weeks. Both were in the head down position so I had a vaginal birth. Erica was 4.6 and Dana 4.15. Their only problem was a bad case of jaundice, so they were in only kept for 12 days. That created a problem for me as I nursed them. Back and forth trips to the hosp and major breast pumping but it was all worth it. My ident girls are 26 now and mothers themselves. You are in for the greatest journey. I wish you luck.

I also went to the hospital at 33 weeks and spent 2 weeks there before my water broke. I went into labor 3 times and they were able to stop it. Other then the PIH the bedrest resolved most of my other symptoms my liver stabolized nad my platlets did not drop any lower. I had them at 35 weeks to the day. My daughter came home with my. She had some temp regulating problems and still has a weak suck that we are diligently working on. My son had the CPAP and feeding tube and the like. He is great now except for reflux and weight gain issues related to that. I also had hypertension and was on Labatolol for 4 weeks after I delivered. I am back down to 90/60 now. Keep us posted and I will be thinking of you.

hi erin,
i had my twins at 35 weeks, section, theywere both breach, i had liver enzyme prob s they took the babies early, they were 6 11 and 7 2!!!! my daughter didnt get released on time so we all stayed in the hospital 3 extra days, they had to pass this car seat challenge, they have to sit in a car seat hooked up to all these monitors for 1 hour, the oxygen levels have to stay up, even a hic up can throw it off, she failed it a couple of times, but since i was nursing the twins i got to stay in a comp room with both babies till they were both ready to go home....
good luck, take these last few weeks to really rub that belly and relax............. if you can

Hi Erin
I had my twin boys at 33 weeks, c-section as well due to hypertension. However, mine wasn't emergency, I was hospitalized for a few days before the section and was able to get the beta shots in, which was a blessing, as my boys came out screaming. They weighed in at 4lbs 8.5oz and 4lbs 6oz and the smaller one was the only one who needed any kind of respiratory help and that was the nasal canula for 1 day. They came home after 2 1/2 weeks in the NICU. Good luck!

I had my boy and girl twins at 36 weeks. Doctor chose to induce as I was already dilated to 3 and both were in good position for vag delivery. boy was 5lbs 13oz girl was 6lbs 10 ounces. we were home in 3 days. my advice to you is to REST! you need to be healthy for healthy babies. i did a whole lot of nothing after 20 wks. good luck!

I delivered at 34.3weeks, I was fortunate that both girls were vertex so I was able to deliver them naturally, I was however on 3 days bedrest at the hospital before I delivered as my water broke, they had me on antibiotics, fluids and steriods to develop my girls lungs more, they told me that a 48hrs of steriods would develop there lungs approx by 2 weeks , when the girls were born they yelled so loud and didn't even need any oxygen, they both scored 9.5 on the agpar. One of my twins was 3lbs11oz and the other 4lbs 6oz. The smaller one had minor issues with feeding and holding her food down so they gave her an IV with fluids to keep her hydrated she went to the NICU as she was under 4lbs and my other twin stayed in the nursery, both developed jauntice which is very common and had to stay under the lights for 6 days, I was able to bring them both home after 10days, by this stage they were eating great and putting on weight. Hang in there everyone's experience is different. Good luck everything will be fine.

I delivered my twins at exactly 37 weeks. I had to have a C-section because my first child was also by C-section. Other than that, I would of been able to have them natural. One was 6lbs 6ozs 20 1/2 inchs and the other was 7lbs 19 3/4 inchs. They were both health with no complications and were able to come home when I was discharged.
