I'm almost 32 weeks pg with twins. I'm becoming increasingly tired, which equals increasingly irritable. Can I have a quick survey of who was put on bedrest while pg with twins? I don't necessarily want bedrest, but I would love to cut back on my hours a bit. What do you think?

I was curious about this too. It's still very early in my pregnancy, (twins) but I cannot afford to miss a lot of work without pay! If I don't miss any between now and late Sept/early Oct, I will have about 10 weeks. I want to take as much of that as possible at home with the baby, not dealing with bedrest. I work full-time, but in an office - I'm really hoping things go smoothly and I can work until the end. (Or close anyway.) Thanks for posting this question.

I was put on a restricted activity at 32 and 1/2 weeks due to my blood pressure and swelling. I had the babies 4 days later at 33 weeks. I worked full time all the way up until then (outside sales) I wish I had bed rested sooner and kept my bp down. I would say anytime now you could go onrestriction, but I warn you, its boring and I only did it for a few days. Scuba gal, your short term disability should cover you if you get put on bedrest and you have up to 26 weeks of that generally.

My twins are teenagers but I was put on bedrest at 30 weeks because I went into preterm labor. The labor was stopped and I didn't have them until 36 weeks and they were born healthy and still are. Don't know what line of work you are in but if it is exhausting then you may need to cut back. Also if you or anyone who reads this happen to go on bed rest, it is not as bad as it seems. When I was pregnant(over 14 yrs ago) there was no internet or extended cable so I spent my time cross stitching, reading, and doing crosswords, things I enjoy. Because believe me when those babies arrive, you will not get to do those things fo a while. Good Luck!

I'm at 30 weeks today. Still working. My job is so slow and boring already its almost the same thing as bed rest. For the most part I do tatting and playing on my laptop while at work. My plan is to continue working as long as I can so that I can save up my Vacation and short term disability to spend more time with my girls when they get here. Of course my job is very understanding and works hard to maintain a workable schedule for me (not counting last week when they had me on 5 hours overtime due to staff shortages). If your job is tiring you out however I'd suggest cutting back especially if you spend any great amount of time on your feet. And at this point they should not be having you lift anything. If you need to you can always get your dr to sign you out a note.

If you are tired and work is making you not feel your best tell your OB and get yourself out or at least decreased hours. Why wait for a problem if your body is giving you the signs to prevent it now?

I worked up until the day I delivered my twins at 37 weeks. However, I did begin working only 30 hour weeks beginning at 33 weeks due to my fluid retention.
