Hey everyone, just thought I would let everyone know where I am at. I am 33 wks pregnant with twins boys. I started having major contractions last week (4/25) The Dr put me on a partial bed rest (I was 60% and almost 1cm). Sunday night it got worse and I called the dr first thing Monday morning and he sent me straight to L & D. I stopped contracting when I got here yesterday but my blood pressure was high 150/110 (which is a huge jump since wednesday which was 122/61) and I have progressed to 70% 1.5 cm and they checked me a couple of hours later and I stayed at 70% and 2cm. My blood pressue has been high ever since and there was protene in my urine. So I had to stay over night and pee in a jug for 24 hours. They also started the steriod shouts as well. Luckly my blood pressure went down this morning after they gave me a sleeping pill. They checked my weight, scary! I weighed at the drs office 199 lbs and last night 217 lbs. So I am retaining way to much water. i have haven't progressed since yesterday. The boys are doing well. I hopefully get to leave this after noon, but I will be on full bed rest hoping the boys stay in a little longer.
Has anyone gone through this and still made it to 36 - 38 wks? Posted on 05/06/08, 11:05 am |

I delivered at 33 weeks due to PIH. Sounds like you are doing better than me though, you at least had time to get the steroid shots for their lungs. IF you should deliver now, they should be okay, so try not to stress too much about it. Take the bed rest seriously, the longer they stay where they are, the better!

hey everyone, thanks so much for the replies! After being in L & D for 2 and half days they let me go home to be on bed rest only to get up to go to the bathroom. I do have PIH and they are trying to make it too next wednesday. They are going to do a sonogram and make a decision then.

Yes. I was in the hospital for three weeks, sorry, before they let me come home. Once I got to 35 weeks and the babies measures 4+lbs by the ultrasound, I was able to come home but it only lasted a week before they were born. Hang in. Do what the Dr. says. Stay still and rest now, you have a lot of work ahead of you! Good luck and God bless!

Yes, I was in the hospital...3 times I believe, and made it to 2 days shy of 36w before my water broke. Stay in bed. I know it's terrible but it's the best for them. Good luck and congrats!
