Babies turning and c-section?

I am almost 31 weeks along now and baby A is still head up and baby B is vertex. My OB says along as baby A changes positions I might be able to have a vaginal delivery. Has anyone have had there babies change postion at the last minute? I am just nervous about someone cutting me open while I am awake. I have never had surgery before so I am alittle freaked out!!!!! Thanks any input would be appreciated. Monika

" my baby a was butt down, he was nestled right in there, baby b was vertex..... i had a section, it was really wild, omg, i was so nervous, but it really was not that bad, it was like an outer body experience!!! good luck to you, a nurse told me once to sit on a speaker, that the baby would turn to hear the music, hahahaha, give that a try "

" I was so scared of the epidural, but it went great, I really didn't feel it. I also didn't feel any of the sirgery (c-section). My husband was by my side, and we greeted are girls...truly..that's all I really remember about it, and I was VERY nervous about the procedure..as I had quite a few complications..everyhting went well.

You'll do great, I wish you the best. So easy to say, but try to relax, and remember you can only control the controlable. "

" I'm with ya on this one. I'm 34 weeks tomorrow and my last U/S 3 weeks ago indicated both babies were breech. I also don't like the idea of being cut open so I'm hoping they've turned or something. In the meantime I know that if its for their safety I'll do anything for them but they better not make me do any of those nasty shots or whatnot without my hubby. I freak out enough that being by myself would only make things worse I know. Hope it goes ok for us both. "

" For me, Baby A was head down and B was vertex, B changed to head down at about 34 weeks so I was able to have a vaginal delivery. I was surprised she could move so late into the pregnancy. It wasn't very comfortable for those last two weeks, but so worth the vaginal delivery. "

" I went into labour at 27 weeks. twin2 was breech. They made attempts to turn him by moving my stomach around but it didn't work.I had to have a vaginal delivery.I gave birth to him feet first it wasn't much different to the first baby but it was scary as he wouldn't come out and was pulled out.I think the c-section is alot safer eventhough it sounds horrible ure baby will be at less risk. " I'm the smae way...i was terrified (to the point that i lost sleep) over a c-section. Baby A was always head down, but Baby b flipped around constantly.
When it was close to the time, she went head down too and I delivered them vaginally.
There will be a lot of peole in the delivery room and you will be prepped for a c-section just in case. If either baby goes into distress whiel you are in labour they will do an emergency c-section (you just get knocked out cold for that).
Do some research and be prepared for anything and everything in the delivery room. 2 babies can get complicated pretty fast..I think we had 3 different doctors (ob/gyn, ped, anes) and like 4 or 5 nurses in the room with us. We also delivered in an operating room, just in case.
Good luck! And get an epidural! "

" My twins remained in the same position, however, I have heard of a twin turing at 38 weeks!!

Don't end up like me, though. My babies were both head down...I went through ALL of the labor and was in the "pushing" process (twin A was coming out)..then I had complications with my epidural (too high on my spine) and I had to undergo an emergency c-section.

I had the best of both worlds!!!! "

" My first set of twins were weird, lol.
I was being prepared for c-section, and the first twin was breech, the 2nd one wasnt in any hurry to come out.

When the Dr said he was making the incerstion, I pushed out the first one feet first, oh man.
The next thing I can remember the Dr with his hand up yonder turning the second twin around and I pushed her out too.
I saved myself a c-section, mind u i didnt want 1.
With my 2nd set of twins, they were born c-section, they hadnt turned and i was 8cm dialated driving myself to the hospital alone.Onto the bed, gas mask on and waking to 2 lil healthy 7lb boys.
May God bless u and ur twins.
