I am expecting triplets in September and I could really use some advice. What should I expect and has anyone successfully nursed triplets? Also, should I start buying preemie clothes of will NB suffice?

" WOW...Welcome and congratulations. I had twins and I grew to expect that expecting anything was a complete waste of time. My advice...GET HELP...people to come and help with the babies, laundry and cooking and cleaning. Fortunately you already have a wonderful helper in your other child. Life will be a splendid chaos. You can nurse triplets...its all in what you set your mind to. Or you can always pump and give as much as you can to each baby...or both pump and breast feed. I breast fed and gave formula as a supplement...it was the best of both worlds...

Clothes. The great thing is that it is getting warm out...and no matter what they will grow into the clothes...a diaper, maybe a onsie and a receiving blanket will be all that you need to get you through the next several months...Keep the clothing simple...a t shirt and a diaper or a onsie, diaper and blanket...

Simple is best... "

" Hey, my twins are 6 months...good luck with triplets! definetly get full time help...twins are enough, i can't imagine having 3. i am nursing and supplementing formula at night, but you can nurse if you set your mind to it.
as for clothes, i would buy some preemie sruff, but keep the tags on! i would also start stocking up on other sizes...second hand stores are wonderful for baby clothes.
Costco (if you have one) carries Kirkland brand diapers, which we have found are the cheapest and work well.
Get as much as you can before...getting out of the house with 3 is going to be hard. Stock up the pantry, get all the baby stuff you possibly can (all teh way down to soap, wipes, clothes, diapers, Ovol (for gas) and tylenol).
And good luck! "

" I am having twins and I have just a few preemie outfits. I have gotten most of my stuff from consignment stores, and my moms of multiples club has yard sales twice a year. A lot of the stuff I got has barely been used, if ever. Anyway, goodluck! "

" I have 22 wk old triplets...So yeah I finally get to GIVE advise...LOL...Yes get preemie clothes...I'd say about 4-5 outfits per child. Sleepers are really the only thing you will need for them. Don't worry about actual outfits. Stock up on diapers in all sizes. I go through about 40-60 a day. It was more like 40 when they first came home though, so thats a whole pack a day. I didn't use preemie diapers all that long, but my girls were a good size. Still I would only buy 2 or 3 packs of them and buy more in newborn. I tried breastfeeding and I DID have my mind set on it, but I could only keep it up for 2 wks after they came home. I did it while they were in the hospital though. When they came home they ate every 3 hours and it took an hour to feed so by the time you were done you have 1hr30min to try and sleep before it all started again. Therefore if you try and breastfeed you need to pump too and that takes up more of your sleeping time. When I added it up I was only going to get 30 min of sleep every 3 hrs and that was killing me...More advise...FIND LOTS OF HELP!!! If you can afford to hire someone then start setting that up now!!! If not find some friends family and church helpers that would like to help feed the babies. When they are so tiny you can't prop them and you really need to feed them all at the same time...Have a close friend or family member set up a sign up sheet if need be. You will need help. I though that it couldn't be much harder then twins which I have in my family and it would be no prob, but I was wrong. You need help...Msg me if you ever need any thing...God Bless "

" Hi, my 3 are a lot older now...8yrs! Proof you can survive triplets! My thoughts are that if they are very prem then you will have time to go shopping before they come home..if not then newborn would be fine. I just bought mosly newborn, and then sort of filled in the sizes of prem once they arrived. When mine came home we had just moved house and hubby was working away during the week...I worked out that I was getting 3 hours sleep a day during this time...not enough. Help is great but if not possible don't panic it can (just about) be done without..just get to learn the short cuts. All the best and congratulations. "
