I’ve been taking 600 mg of Lyrica a day for over a year now but I still have pain. I got upset a few weeks ago and stopped the Lyrica. My body went through mad, crazy withdrawals and just hurt all over but after that was over I felt like a different person. There was no change in the amount of pain on or off the Lyrica that is until this past Saturday night when I had one of the worst attacks ever. It lasted for two and a half hours all I could do is curl up in a ball and scream and cry. When the pain first started I took 20 mg of Oxycodone. Then after 90 min, I took another 10 mg of Oxycodone that my boyfriend crushed up for me so that it would get into my system faster. It was another hour before the pain finally let up. I do not know what to do anymore. I took 200 mg of Lyrica today. I do not want to take Lyrica and I am not even sure it works for me anymore. I am thinking about getting the Glycerol Rhizotomy injections but I’m just not sure.

Hiya
My doc has me on 300mg of lyrica in the morning and 450mg in the evening, which is slightly over the recommended dose, I've been on it for years now. I find it's good for the pins and needles pain but not the rest. I didn't realise how much it was doing for me till i stopped taking it for a few weeks.

I have been on Lrica for a couple years. It's now been increased to the max. of 600mg. The med. did help for awhile but no longer works for me now. I've been in pain all wkd and am freaking out because of it. I'm feeling hopeless. There's no more meds out there that works for me since I've tried them all. The neurosurgeons that I've seen has receommended surgery for me since I'm still young but I'm scared. I need to do more research. I don't want to live my life in pain anymore. I've had this disorder for over 8 yrs.

Hi guys my hearts breaks as I read each post. I can so relate. By the grace of God I seem to have found a combination that seem to be working. However it only been working for a few week now and if you have any experience with this disorder you know that can end any day. For anyone it might help I take 900 mg of Trileptal at bedtime. 10 mg of Baclofen (up to 2 more if need during the day) and 25mg of Topamax upon waking.
My pain has been sever to the right side of my face. I was suprised to see a support group in Texas, Im in Houston and could find no one who seem to have a clue about TN. Guess I didn't reseach enough. Again, to each of you I go pray for you all, please pray for me.

Pardon my naivete but I'm confused by all the references to so many different medications and the implication that most of you are self-diagnosing and self-treating. Is this true? (I am not an FDA or any other type of cop.) If so, is this common for all ailments or special to TN? How does it work? Does your MD prescribe five different meds and tell you to just take them on an as-needed basis? I live abroad and my GP suggested Lyrica but since I can live with just tegratol my neurologist is sticking only with that at the moment.

I can only speak for myself with this post. My doctor has tried a number of medication and I get back with him on if they work for me. He does a number of test and adjust and readjust. I don't know how much you know about TN but I feel the worst part is that it is very different for each person. Some people the medication works better for Than other. I feel we post here so people can ask there doctors about difference things thats may have worked for someone else. My doctor ask me at my last visit if I wanted to try Lyrica. We talked about it and since I had heard such good thing about Benlofen I ask about that. He looked into it and for the first time in my six years I am completely pain free. Now, as I said relief is some time short lived with TN so how long that will be I don't know. I take it one day at a time. I some here for support, information and a kind ear. I hope this answers your question.
