glycerol rhizotomy

I was diagnosed with TN 2 years ago, when I was 40. I have had great success with Lyrica until recently. I have only had 2 remissions during the 2 years. Lyrica 225mg bid is no longer providing me with adequate pain control ( I also have difficulty concentrating, difficulty with word finding and during the evening have become quite twitchy). I recently went to see a neurosurgeon, at his suggestion I had a trial of Tegretol. I was taking 200mg tid and developed an allergic reaction. I am now back on Lyrica 225mg bid and am booked for a glycerol rhizotomy this coming week.
Has anyone had this procedure? How did you feel afterwards? Were you back to yourself the following day? Did you have success with it?

" Is this the Gamma Knife procedure? If so some people do not get relief from having that done. It's a 50/50 chance. Find out the doctors success rate.
I wish you much luck. Believe it or not the morning after pill reduces TN pain but the side effects are not to good "
