Has anyone ever tried a "Hair Re-growth Shampoo"?? Does it actually work? What kind do you reccomend?

I've been very good at not pulling and my huge baldspot is almost filled in with small short hairs. However, there are a couple tiny areas that remain.

So, I was thinking about a shampoo or something to promote hair growth to fill it in and make the hair that is there grow faster so that maybe in a few months I can get my first ever haircut to make it all even (in 14 years!)

Thanks for any input you may have!

" Hi,
Nixon is a great product that I have used before. They have shampoo, conditioners, vitamins and a hair growth serum that you rub on your hair thinning area's. I think the vitamins really work well. If they are to expensive I have also bought hair and nail vitamins at Target for under $10. Good luck hope this helps. "

" Hi---a friend of mine gave me a bottle of a shampoo called "Folicure" (there's the / accent mark over the letter e) that she bought at a beauty supply place. She said her dad used it after he lost his hair from chemo and it really helped his hair re-grow. Her hair is fine but she decided to use it too and said it really helped her hair thicken up. So I use it every day. My hair is really re-growing in, but in part because I have not been pulling. The top of my head was pretty bald and hair is growing in. But there are still many sparse areas. I don't know if hair will ever re-grow in completely? Hard to say since I have pulled for 20 years. But give Folicure a try. It was less than $2 here where I live. "

" I don't know about any shampoos, however; pre-natal vitamins when taken daily for months on end will cause your hair and nails to grow faster than they do without. I know everytime I was prego and took those vitamins my hair and nails went wild! It really couldn't hurt to take a daily vitamin. Good Luck! "

" I just order the Folicure for my son. Hopefully this will help. His hairpulling is starting a bald spot about the size of a quarter on the top of his head. I'm also going to get him the vitmains.

We're also waiting on a call back to see if a specialist will take him on as a new paitent. "
