Does Trich affect one personality type more than another? I've been looking at the four personality types...(1) phlegmatic, or golden retriever, (2) choleric or lion, (3) sanguine or otter, (4) melancholy or beaver. If you don't know your personality type, you can take a test to figure it out at this web site: http://www.oneishy.com/personality... I'm just curious. I am phlegmatic for the most part and I've been fighting with Trich since I was 12. Now I'm over 50! I wonder if I had a stronger personality type, could I get over it? I don't know, just wondering...

" I can't help myself when it comes to personality tests so I definitely had to go take it.

My results were Melancholy/Choleric/Phlegmatic

Choleric and Phlegmatic were at the same percentage

For the most part I thought the descriptions were pretty right on. "

" I took the test you gave us the link to. (ty)
and one connection I found after viewing my personality results is that with my personality, sanguine/choleric- sanguine is also the best description for the manic phases of bi-polar. ---which is my other diagnosis.
thank you for enlightening me. "

" I realized I had not tried to answer your question, regarding if our types of personality could help our beating trich...well, an example could be-I think if we had some stubborn-ness- it could both be a plus when sticking to our plans to fight this...but also could probably be a negative because it also could keep us from getting out of our 'rut'.

not that I had an answer, it was just that I was telling my opinion.

thx for letting me ramble.lol "

" Just as a quick reference

Weaknesses
The Melancholy's Emotions

Remembers the negatives
Moody and depressed
Enjoys being hurt
Has false humility
Off in another world
Low self-image
Has selective hearing
Self-centered
Too introspective
Guilt feelings
Persecution complex
Tends to hypochondria

The Melancholy At Work

Not people oriented
depressed over imperfections
Chooses difficult work
Hesitant to start projects
Spends to much time planning
Prefers analysis to work
Self-deprecating
Hard to please
Standards often to high
Deep need for approval

I 100% believe that this makes me more prone to giving into my Trich, now these strengths I think have been what's made it possible for me to stop pulling:

The Choleric's Emotions

Born leader
Dynamic and active
Compulsive need for change
Must correct wrongs
Strong-willed and decisive
Unemotional
Not easily discouraged
Independent and self sufficient
Exudes confidence
Can run anything

The Choleric At Work

Goal oriented
Sees the whole picture
Organizes well
Seeks practical solutions
Moves quickly to action
Delegates work
Insists on production
Makes the goal
Stimulates activity
Thrives on opposition

Just a little more insight :) "

" I am mostly Phlegmatic and Melancholy.

I sometime wonder though if Trich had a hand in making me so, because when i was in elementary school before I got Trich I remember being talkative and bubbly although I was always a little quieter I feel that I might have been more outgoing if Trich hadn't gotten in the way and kept me from getting close to people, but whose knows how I would have turned out.
