Well, yesterday I finally came clean to myself & my family (parents & boyfriend) about my self-destruction... they had no idea there was terminology for it and had no idea how severe it was... I currently only pull my eyebrows, eyelashes & sometimes my pubic hairs... I hate body hair, it's so gross. I have short hair (shoulder length) and try to keep it that way, or I twirl & pull. It's such a relief. Sometimes when I can't sleep I will pull out tweezers and just pull to relax me under stressful situations.

Recently, I found a doctor in Kent, WA where I live and am going to start seeing her on a weekly basis starting Nov. 12th -- I'd love to get to know others on this website, I just joined last night and would love to gain friendships... thank you!

Stephenie

" Hi Steph & Poppy
I'm new here too. I pull the kinky hairs out of my scalp. I do it when I'm stressed, anxious or depressed. I'm stressed and anxious. I've been pulling for a month now (recurring - it comes in cycles)I joined up so I can keep my hands busy. My neck and shoulder is so sore from using those small muscle motions to pull. Nice to be in the company of others who understand where I'm coming from. cheers "

" Hey, I'm Alexis and im 22. Im studying psychology in Wales in the UK. Ive had this problem with pulling out my eyebrows since I was about 9 but never knew it was actually recognised until recently. Ive never tried any treatments and Im too scared to go to the Dr as im worried having it on my record would effect my job prospects! Its a terrible cycle of stress, pull, feel better then worse again. I wish I could stop!!! "
