How do you know if your transgendered or not the reason I am asking is because I feel as if Iam a man in a womans body. Why do I feel this way is there something wrong with me?

There is nothing "wrong" with you. I too am having gender issues. I don't feel like a female or a male. This is most confusing. I am new here and am relieved to have found such a community.

"Wrong" implies that we are dysfunctional in some way (and I certainly was and to a much smaller degree, still am). In a perfect world we would all receive guidance and support so that if it was found appropriate, we could also have access to therapy and surgical methods to transition our minds, emotions, bodies and everyday lives to social/anatomical destinations where gender expression and sex are balanced and help us to resolve the greatest degree of conflict.

There's a lot of conventional wisdom on the subject~ and quite a bit of controversy as well. I can only give my opinion about me because i think we have to be very careful about labeling- whether we do it to others or ourselves it can be a dangerous habit to get into.
Likely the best route is to speak to a "Gender Specialist" and even all the better if your rapport with that person is a good one~ this way you share a journey of self discovery with a guide in a comfortable way... because being relaxed and comfortable and self accepting go's a long way in this process. There really is a lot of information to address- won't you seek a specialist? -Marina

It isn't that there's something "wrong" its that you need more about yourself to discover. Strange things cross your mind, and possibly you start to question your body, but it isn't -wrong- it's completley normal to feel this way. Like grrljock, sometimes I don't feel like either a man or a woman, I just feel me. But I'd much rather be known as a male, because that's who I am entirely.
What you need to do is take note of things you think...like what you're attracted to, or how you think this way about something. Keeping a journal definatley helps, not just with current situations going on in your life, but what you're thinking about. Mostly with your body, because it seems most transgendered people seem to constantly think about that the most. But there is certainly nothing wrong with you at all. :]

Hi jaimer, there is nothing wrong with you. It would be a good idea to speak with a Gender Specialist.

hello, i am a man trapped in a womans body and personally i do not think this is wrong, just somewhere in the foetal stage things got mixed up, try to be more positive about yourself, there is nothing at all wrong with being transgendered , it can take some accepting but when you have it can be fun as well as a bit tedious when you have been called ma'am for the fifth time today lmao, try to be kind to yourself, think how you would advize one of your best friends if they came to you saying the same thing, i bet you would not judge them as harshly as you would yourself, just remember that whatever gender you are, you are a good person and that means more in life than anything, have fun
