I was at the mall the other day talking to this guy. I KNEW he was transgendered and was verified when he showed me a picture of himself without a shirt on (we were talking about weightlifting) I could see the scar from the mastectomy. He had to of known, by my clothes and everything that I was FTM also. He thought I was a woman!!! Wouldn't you think that other FTMs would be more sensitive to people and their gender??? He did apologize when I told him I'm a guy. I mean, I pass all the time now, even in a t-shirt!!! And his attitude towards women was appalling!!! I told him about my gf not wanting to be in a romantic relationship because she hadn't been with any one for 15 yrs and he told me I should "write her off as damaged goods and move on"!!!! I was soooo pissed by the time I got home!!!

I'm sorry this happened to you, but FTM's are just like other people, they make mistakes, say the wrong thing or do the wrong thing. As for his opinion of your gf, well, some people are like that in this world and there's nothing you can do but move on and try not to let it eat you up inside. It's cruel and uncalled for what he said, but you can't change him, just let his rotten comment roll off your shoulders and move on. Some people are cruel in this world, but plenty aren't and if you can remember that it'll be easier for you when you come into contact or meet people like this guy. Good luck and take care, I wish you well and hope you aren't as angry as you were.

remember that some people feel a need to become a stereotype of their gender/orintation to be accepted, and take on attitudes they think are gender appropriate. The trouble with that kind of pretending is that unless you are carefull, the stereotypical attitude may become real and not a mask. That being said, unless you expect to run into this person often, take a deep breath and let it go, and hope they grow up eventually.
