" it is probably very unlikely that the feelings will go away. the real question is what do you want to do with them? you can try and control them, but most people cannot. or you can be honest with yourself and others and work toward a gender change, or at least going as far as you can. there are many costs in doing that, finanacial, personal, emotional, and others - but it might be less costly than trying to put a lid on your feelings. " I have always had questions about my gender. I used to label myself a girl in boy's body...other times I claim androgyny. I've struggled with this for years.

I can tell you that the feelings wax and wane...sometimes they are so strong that trying to discover who I am becomes more important than anything else in the world. Other times, the feelings and confusion seems to slip away so that I don't notice them anymore.

They NEVER go away, though...even when they seemed gone for a couple years...they came back...just as strong, if not stronger. "

" I hate using those words of GID for it is NOT a disorder at all.

You asked if these feelings would ever go away? Well Jessie told you straight.

There is a rule known as the 50/50 rule which simply states that 50 percent of T.S people will take thier own life before the age of 30. That is just nothing but a waste of precious life for no reason.

You can hide the feelings and push them away but that only works for a period of time and they most likely will become stronger and stronger every time they surface. It gets worse the longer you wait.

There are those who do "stay as they are" and live a very healthy life but you need to be a very strong person who has come to terms with who they are gender wise.
You will have to be able to allow both sides of you to live or find a way that you can be able to express both genders through out your life and be comfortable and strong in who you are. Most just can not do this.

Just because one has been told they have gid and has had feelings of the other gender is in any way a reason to just jump in and start taking hormones.

You were told by inpainincanada this can be costly. Beleive me she said a mouth full there. You have got to "COUNT ALL COST" to your transition before you even begin hrt.

Can you honestly say that loosing your job or family and friends or respect of those in your life or being kicked out of a club or organisation is simply something you can just turn you back on and walk away from?

Well if NO is any of your answers you need to truly do some research and thinks things over and over again. I am NOT saying you will loose those things but what I am saying is that YOU truly could and it happens more times then none.

People DO NOT have to except this in thier lives. If a spouse has to walk away then you better never ever get mad or hold bad feelings against them.

I hope I am not sounding down on transitioning for it was a life saver for me but then again I also reached a place in life where I was simply NOT going to live my life to please others and that meant family and friends etc.

all I ever asked was to please take the time to get to know me for you just might like me even better now. If they don't then so be it because not every one is going to like every one any ways.

This may be a little long winded but I have seen way too many people jump in and start taking hormones and then come unglued when people did not do what they wanted them to do and except them and pat them on the back. I have seen some T.S people get very violent because of this and that is ALWAYS wrong no matter what.

Take your time and do tons of research and fellow ship with others and you will know that you know what course of action is correct for you.

One warning....this is not a game and it is not something that you can play with. Ok some do but for the most part if you do not deal with this it will deal with you and leave you out to dry.

I really hope your journey will be a very safe and healthy and happy time for you but remember.....there are tons of valleys and mountains and rough roads to cross before you ever reach your goal or destination...Fro me and others it is all so worth it.

Have a wonderful week!
Hugs Jami Maree "
