Is when the noise changes in the ear. I could be fine all day.I can check my noise level in my ear before i go to bed and lets say it;s a 3 then when i wake up it;s a 9. What happens to our body at night that makes the noise go up.I have a radio on,a fan,so it;s not lack of noise. If i ate or did something wrong during the day why doesn't it affect me right away. Why does it let me know in the morining. Does our body retain more fluid during the night? If my noise stays the same during the day why can't it stay the same during the night? Anyone have any idea?

" When I wake up in the morning and my T is high it seems to set the mood for the whole day. In turn if I wake up and it's low then it's low the entire day. I haven't quite figured that out yet. I use to think that it was something I ate but I found out that is not true. When I was really depressed in the beginning I tried to avoid foods that supposedly triggered T like sodium, caffeine etc. So many things have sodium in them that I just gave up. I got to the point that didn't care what I ate anymore. When I finally got that attitude, food didn't seem to affect my T anymore. "

" I can relate. My t sound like a hurricane last night. I too listen to white noise and sometimes think it is causing it, but the verdict is still out on that. There is reactive tinnitus. I think I may have it. Your tinnitus can be made worse when exposed to noise and maybe even white noise. In the early days of t I went to went without white noise and swear my t was not as loud during the night. As for food I think sugar does it. What was the last thing you put in your mouth before going to bed. Consider eliminating it and the like to see. This what works and does not work stuff is a full time job. Take care lediyl. Let us know. Mark "

" I've taken caffeine, salt out of my diet and alway's reading food label's so much sodium, so been going to organic food store's with all natrual product's,but then lately still about the same i keep a journal what i eat and see if it make's a difference ...I love soda but been doing great without it.But it seem's to be louder in the morning too ! Would you think after you are laying down the brain wave's Nero nerve's are the only thing awake in your brain. 24/7...while you are sleeping...isn't it great when u dream and remember what you dream but you don't hear the ringing in your ear's.... just a throught lol "

" Funny that you bring this up! I just woke up this morning and noticed that my T was making a few adjustments. Firs of all, I was laying there debating if I wanted to get up and I could litterally hear the T in each ear changing pitch. It would start off high, stop (yes, quite) for a few seconds and then start hissing (like it usually does), but then repeat. And I've noticed this during the day too, but this AM it was more so. I also noticed this AM that my sinuses were also moving. Popping or crackling as it may be as I moved my head from one side to the other. This in turn was changing the pitch of the T. Weird?

As for the salt: My T goes up after about a half an hour after eating something high in salt, but if I drink a lot of water, it's back to normal after a few hours. I can hang, I like salt too much. Sugar does nothing to my T.

As for noise: Too much night noise IS too much. I used to have a small fan sitting next to my bed (pre T) and after the onset I had to kick that thing to the curb because it was too loud. I then found that my ceiling fan on high took care of my white noise needs. And it hums just enough to mask the ringing. But if I'm in a restaurant, or driving my car, or other situations like that, I don't hear the T too much. So needless to say, I try and keep myself busy these days.

Also, has anyone ever heard of this clinic? Or the RF procedures they perform? Interesing bit of info if you ask me. http://www.headaches.com/tinnitus.htm "

" I actually did read somewhere alonge the road of my Internet research, that people with T should sleep propped up. At least with two pillows if anything. I don't know about you, but this kills my neck too. It's a no win situation there! "

" Thanks r for that website. I am learning more everyday about TMJ. Did you know that caffeine can tighened you jaw muscles? It is not recommended. My ear pain/pressure must be tmj related. My ears are fine according to the doctor unless I get MRI/MRA next week and something is found. Hope you are having more better than worse days. "

" This old post is competely related to my current problem. Whatever I hear when I wake up is what I'm stuck with the rest of the day. My tinnitus is at different levels every day. It is predictable ( pretty much two days bad & one day quiet), but I can't really change this pattern. Sometimes I get two consective good days, which has given me false hope since it usually comes back in vengence.

Food seems to change the intensity of the days. I don't drink(maybe I should) or even go near caffeine. I always have a ton of energy. (I exercise a lot) But I like salty foods like pretzels and nuts, but then my next day is completely hideous. I tried unsalty snacks and the next day isn't really much better. I like soft drinks, but then again the next day isn't very good.

But from this post its seems that water may be beneficial. So I'm going to give that a try and drink a whale amount of H2O and see if that makes any difference. "

" Mine is loudest in the morning and I have always wondered why it wouldn't be its quietest. It seems after an shower it is calming down to what it will be all day. I tried white noise at night instead of silence because I thought it was louder from all the quiet in the night. Woke up feeling the same. "
