I am new here, I found this forum after joining the aneurysm forum
I have had tinnitus for just under 20 years. It arrived after an episode of Bells Palsy from which I made a full recovery, my doctors told me at the time it would go away in time, following the recovery of the nerve which was affected by the Bells Palsy, but although the Bells Palsy went, the tinnitus stayed with me and I have lived with it ever since. In 2004 I had some more ear problems, balance, ear pain and the tinnitus was a bit worse, I got referred to an ENT specialist and by the time I got the appointment my balance and ear pain symptoms had gone and the tinnitus was back to its normal level, so he could find nothing wrong, but sent me for a brain scan and they found multiple aneurysms in the arteries in my brain. These were treated through neurosurgery,my neurosurgeon thought that my tinnitus may well dissapear after surgery but it has remained with me. I also have high blood pressure which is successfully controlled by medication. I read somewhere that blood pressure can have an impact on tinnitus, but I am not sure if that is right. lizzie7 Posted on 12/24/07, 05:12 am |
