hey nice lady, i feel your pain!!the one thing you have got to adopt!! is tell yourself, "One More Day",I think it will help u , especially in the early stages of this crap! As time goes on, it should get better, its new, something is ascew, but dont let it beat you! what have u tried for relief? If you can,get some xanax or lorazapam for the anxiety, then go from there!there is so many things out there to try, some work, some dont, but you have to start somewhere, and this site is a great start. Its some scary stuff, but you are not alone, there are approx, 15 million americans alone, that suffer from severe T, i am so sorry your one of them! Wishing you peace and quiet!! Hit me up if u want too!

You can get by and God willing you will get by. Tommorrow isn't much different than yesterday. The thought of tommorow is much worse than our present state of torment.
I've had T for 27 years and I hope that's not too discouraging or encouraging to you. T (especially severe T) is an awful condition, but it is what it is and what it is is just a noise. For me and most if not all reading this it is a very unpleasant noise. Our attitude and emotion towards this noise is everything though we all would never voulenteer to take the T test we are taking. My attitude shifts like the tide. There's a Grateful Dead song, "the first days are the hardest days don't you worry anymore...when life looks like easy street there is danger at your door." The first days are the hardest days and the danger at your door will not kill you. The sad part is you are not living on Easy Street but who really lives there.

Im so sorry you are going thur this.I have been where you are right now. They say the more your stressed out the worse the T gets which doesn't make sense b/c the T is what is causeing the stress.Right now i have roaring.tones and rining and pulsitaing in my ear and head.I just want it to go away. Before i was put on valuim everytime my tones would go up or my ears would take turns fluccating the noise would back and forth to each ear i would walk around the house like a crazy person holding my ear. When i get new tones my gut drops cause im like now something new i have to deal with now on top of what i already have. Try to get some meds to help you cope.Talk to your doc?

jobo8080, The first few months are hell. You really should go to a doctor and tell them that you are having thoughts of suicide and you need some medication. I found that the medication got me through the tough times. Then slowly you will learn other methods and hopefully over time your Tinnitus will get better. I know some people are anti-meds but they got me through the darkest time when I first got tinnitus. I still use Vicodin and lorazapam. The vicodin lowers the intensity of the ringing and the lorazapam knocks me out at night. Drugs are not a way to live forever but they will help you get through this until you can find another way. Some doctors will not understand and will not prescribe medication. Go to a different doctor. I know this is hard to do especially when you are so stressed out. Call a doctor and ask for help. Hopefully, it will be a temporary solution but it will get you through. Earitated.

I want to thank everyone for their support. I never thought my life would end up this way. I can't bear the thought of having this forever. I don't understand how some of you have handled this for so many years. How do you do it? Why do you say that it will get better because most of you still hear the same noises so how is that better? I was prescribed an anti-depressant 2 weeks ago but it doesn't seem to be helping as much now. I also have xanax but I don't notice much of a difference in the tone. How much longer until it gets better?

Young lady, I have had for less than three months. I tried to focus on the things that life has given me which are worth fighting for. No it is not nice, I walk around with headphones and musinc to mask the sound. I am an attorney and it is hard to concentrate and get work done. it is hard to rest and to go on, but I know that if there is some many people who has had it for yers, I will also learn to live with it. It is not the worse that will happen to you, so take it easy, and see other people who are learning to live with worse conditions. I guess that beacuse so many people has it, something will be discovered soon that will give us relief, meanwhile, dont you ever think about ending your life, for this not for anything.
