Pregnant after thyca?

Hi, I'm a 32 and I've never had kids. I was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer last year and I did a RAI treatment in December (after a semi-total thyroidectomy). It looks like I will be having to do another RAI next months as I may still have some thyroid tissue remaining. I'm soooo scared of putting that stuff into my body for a second time. Does anyone out there managed to get pregnant AFTER the thyroidectomy and RAI? My doctors say I shouldn't have a problem, but they also said back in December I shouldn't have to do a RAI again. Thanks.

" I actually found out I had thyroid cancer while I was pregnant (of all times!). However, I'm part of the THYCA group on Yahoo and there are lots and lots of people that have successfully gotten pregnant after thyroid cancer. I've been told by all my doctors that it shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure you wait at least 6 months after your RAI treatment since research shows there can be a slight increase in miscarriage if you get pregnant too close to the RAI treatment. "

" I had thryoid cancer in 2002 and can say that I am the proud mom of a 15 month old little girl named Alaina. She's happy and as healthy as can be. My doctor had to practically double my dose of synthroid and check my levels every couple of months. But everything went great. "
