What triggers a flare up of ITP?

Does anyone have an answer for this?My husband was diagnosed with it in 2005, and treated for about three months. His counts went way up and were considered "normal" and the hemotalogist only wanted to see him every six months. He had a flare up the first of march this year and has had to go back to the DR about every week for IVIG treatments and he is also on 10 mg of prednisone(which makes him feel awful)he also got a yeast infection in his throat that they are treating him for now. This has just been such a more serious problem the second time around. I would be glad to hear of anyone else who has experienced any of these problems.
