Thrombocytopenic Purpura Support Group

We have been advised by our Hemo Doc to have our 13 yr old daughter given the HPV vaccination as soon as possible. They also wrote her out a prescription for birth control pills due to her very heavy and irregular periods. She is on Plaquenil, Azathioprine, folic acid and iron supplements and her counts are all low with nutraphils crtical low
She is not sexually active and suffers terrible pain and blood loss sometimes twice a month so we understand why they suggested the pill- she is deciding for herself if she wants to take it or not- but we have questions about Gardasil. We believe her current problems with ITP/AIHA and Lupus etc are from her Hep vac given to her in school as it was mandatory for grade 5's. We were told it possibly was the mercury type solution used to admin the hep shot that caused her medical condition known as Evans Syndrome. We want to know more info about this new vac that is for ages 9-26. Has anyone taken it, any reactions like platelet's dropping? Thank you- I have added this to the Lupus forum also.
