Hi Everyone!

I am glad I found this group!

I am 20 years old and a junior in college. I am majoring in nursing and sociology.

I just found out about two months ago that I had TOS. It was a great relief to know what was causing the horrible pain I had, but also not the easiest thing to treat. After being told by multiple doctors that it was all in my head or I was just stressed out, I about cried when I actually had a diagnosis. I was so tired of people not listening to me! I know my body!

Anyway, I did physical therapy for about 6 weeks with no help at all, and only increase in the muscle tightness from it. I am supposed to go see a thoracic surgeon in about 4 weeks when I go back home. I have heard good and bad things about surgery though, so I am not too sure yet what will happen. I do know I cannot live with this pain anymore though, so I guess I will find out what the surgeon and I decide soon!

Well, just wanted to say hi to everyone and introduce myself! :)

" Sometimes doctors can be such idiots. I was diagnosed recently for TOS as well. I don't know where you live, but Dr. Julie Freischlag in John's Hopkins in the place to go. It's her speciality. I've had random questions that people have asked me and when I don't know the answer or am unsure I can email her and she usually repsonds within 24 hours. She's awesome.

Good Luck. "
