Hello all

I'm a partner of someone who has had one testical removed. Thankfully he did not need chemo. We found out in December 2007. I was distraught, he was amazed (he has never smoked and is fit whereas his family have smoked and no cancer) not that that should mean anything.

We have had sex since the operation but it seems he has lost his drive for it. We used to make love 3/4 times a week and now it's every 7/8 weeks if we're lucky. Has anyones else had this experience? Sex is by no means the be all and end all but it is strange when we were such a physical couple beforehand. We talk about it but I know he is not comfortable with this.

Please any advice or help would be greatly apreciated.

" I am a testicular cancer survivor myself. I did have to go through the surgery and alot of treatments. My wife is very undersanding but even to this day my equipment has trouble working and it will never be like it was. So our sex life has suffered tremendously. I know thats not any hope for your situation but I am just being honest. "

" i'm a testicular cancer survivor, i was 16 when i had it. i had the testical removed by surgery, (my left one). going through this myself hes been/going through, all i can advise you to do is to keep on reassuring him that you still love him, even if he has onli got 1 testical left.

but obviously talking about it alot can be very upsetting, you just need to get the balance right.

i hope this helps you and your partner.

if you'd like to chat about anything then please dont be afraid to ask. "
