Lump

My husband found a very small lump on one of his testicles. this was about a week and a half ago, now there is pain when he touches it. I made him a doctor appointment and he went. He told me that doctor said he wasnt concerned but he did order a sonogram. I am nervous and not sure what to think. This is new for us so dont really know what we should do. Any suggestions would be great. If there is a lump does that always mean cancer?

" I had a lump, for years. Had it looked at several times, and it was painfull even though the doctors books says it is not. It was hydrocell. It is diagnosed by putting a flashlight behind the lump, if you can see through it, it is not cancer. "
