I have a HUGE problem my friends. I went to have a tooth extraction, done with novacaine and I was unable to even keep the pediactric bite block in!
5 years ago, during a dental procedure the dentist applied too much pressure to my jaw and the discs have been out ever since. This is a permanent injury. I have a mouth guard, but becaue my teeth have been hurting I have not been able to keep that in lately.

Anyway..I also need 3 fillings..and HOW am I going to get this done. The oral surgeon thought IF I had the anesthesia, then my muscles would relax and we could maybe get the job done?? I am SO afraid. My jaw is killing me just from attempting to do this, this past Friday.

IF anyone can please help me or offer suggestions as to how you deal with dental procedures if you also have this problem, I WOULD SO APPRECIATE IT!!
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

" I can't open either. so before I had the impressions for my bite splint made I took muscle relaxors. I gave them a while to work- so I was tired and loopy. I was able to open just enough.... ask for a script. It won't be easy- and you still may have pain, I did. But it got the job done. Good luck:)

" Hello,
Maybe you could try some motrin before so you can have the jaw loose before the procedure, because this will relax the area and bring the inflamation down and keep takiing it after the procedure for a day or two. The doctor gives me 800 for a flare-up of pain and it really works and sometime a lttle vicodin...

Good luck!!!!
