I have severe flare-uo my doctor gave me 800 mg of Motrin and vicodin to take....I did take the motrin 3 times a day and it really helped....Haven't had this much releif, has anyone had the same results.

" Kathy- if the you are getting relief with the motrin then thats fabulous! Keep going- Its the lesser of all evils. It does absolulty nothing for me- I wish it did. So, it must be bringing down some inflamation that you have - so maybe now your pain will calm down:)

" otc pain meds have never worked to ease my TMJ.
Occasionally Percocet used to help (I'd take it for migraines and inadvertently I noticed it helped my TMJ as well.)
Nowadays I usually don't take anything for it. I just grin and bare it for the most part, don't eat when I can't, and try to massage it or put ice/heat packs on it. "
