Ok, so some of you know about my recent adrenal crisis due to quitting smoking...

WELL...

I can't have any sweets now. Great, huh? OH...especially black licorice! That was the ONE thing that took my craves away...especially while driving in traffic. But black licorice stimulates the adrenals, so no go!

The cortisol issue is also making my blood sugar go crazy so I have to be all about the protein and no simple carbs (sugars). Yeah, like a boiled egg or handful of nuts is gonna chase my craves away!

Just had to vent. It's just my luck. Anyone who knows me knows I have the WORST luck. Nothing ever goes right for me, no matter how hard I try or how thoroughly I plan. Too funny!

" Bummer Joy ... sorry to hear it. I was thinking Kelly was really onto something. Double bummer that you can't have sugar free either.

I don't know if it will help, but I always thought sunflower seeds (in the shell) helped ... it was a busy hand to mouth routine to get them out of the shell. Just a thought. Best wishes. "

" Try sucking on a whole clove. The flavor is quite intense and will leave your breath smelling great. I used the cloves when I first quit and the idea of smoking after sucking on a clove was just nasty, in fact it kept me from wanting to smoke for a couple of hours at a time. I know the flavor is not to everyone's liking but if you can handle it I think you will find it's a wonderful crave chaser. "
