Using the patch and Commit lozenge, I lasted two days, but then went and bought that dreaded pack of cigs, I didn't enjoy them as much as I have before, and I'm trying to exercise more. It's a difficult task to quit without support. I'm doing the best I can--back with the patch and the lozenge today. I would appreciate some more encouragement.

" Hi and welcome to DS! Devote as much time as you can to whyquit.com and this site. Read the current posts and old posts, educate yourself on addiction, you can do it, we all can and the support here helps tremendously! "

" Welcome eyeride... this certainly is the best place going for support and all the good info on getting through your quit... there is nothing wrong with having a slip up as long as you get up, dust yourself off and get straight back in the saddle. Quitting sure is hard... but as long as you don't quit quitting you WILL do it. "

" "Roller coaster" is almost the image I have -- I think of it as the "roller coaster from hell."

The first days are definitely hardest, and you're definitely not the first quitter to slip! Congratulations getting right back up on the bike!

I never had any luck with the patch -- it was like giving myself poison ivy. Nicotine gum finally worked for me. I never tried it, but a lot of quitters swear by Chantix.

What has made the BIGGEST difference is this forum. Mutual support and accountability helps a lot, I'm not sure I'd have made it going solo.

Hang in there! Good luck! Stay with this forum! "
