In many cases, central apnea can be increased as CPAP pressure is increased, BUT.... having some degree of central apnea is not always that significant. I too, have bothe OSA and CSA, and even though my central aspect DID get a tad worse after starting XPAP therapy, it DID NOT affect my O2 saturation. ONLY my obstructive apnea was causing my "sat" to drop.

They didn't tell me what was causing my oxygen level to drop so much. They said I have Mild Obstructive apnea and mod/sever central apnea. I lowered my pressure to 10 and so far so good, but wow, headaches every morning. LOL. But I am sleeping from 10 pm - 5 am without waking up now, so I guess that's good?

They need to give me another study to see if I qualify for the other machine - I can't remember what it's called, but it's new.
I'm outta luck because there is no help for central sleep apnea. it's my brain forgetting to tell me to breathe. it happens day/night. it's kinda scary!
