IM SORRY IN ADVANDE BUT THIS DIEASE IS REALLY STARTING TO TICK ME OFF. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH EVERYTIME I GO TO THE DOCTOR NOW WITH ANY COMPLAINT THEY GIVE ME THAT CONDESCENDING LOOK AND SAY ITS JUST PART OF SJOGRENS. NO CURE BUT WE HAVE PILLS BUT IF YOU WANT THE PAIN TO GO AWAY IT WILL TAKE ANYWHERE FROM 3 TO 6 MONTHS BUT THOSE DAMN SIDE EFFECTS KICK IN INSTANTLY ON PLAQUENIL FOR 6 DAYS IM NAUSEOUS AND MY HAIR IS FALLING OUT. NO RELEIF AND I FEEL WORSE THAN EVER. ALSO PUT ME ON RESTASIS NO RELEIF FOR 3 MONTHS. AND TO TOP IT OFF I WENT TO THE DOCTOR FOR FOR UTI AND GUESS WHAT ITS JUST PART OF SS. IS THIS THE WAY ITS GONNA BE FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE BECAUSE THE TREATMENT SEEMS WORSE THAT THE DISEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Posted on 07/02/08, 11:07 pm |

sounds like you need a new doctor. I've never had any side effects from plaquenil, yet you've had nausea and hair loss. I'm so sorry everything is so frustrating right now. It is my opinion that your doctor is no more concerned about your symptoms than it sounds, you need to find a new rheumatologist. Good luck!

I've read that peoples hair does fall out with Plaquenil and I have nausia from it if I do not take it with foor. Most times the only reason I eat is to take my medicine. It does suck though. I'm thinking we all need to volunteer for the SS research in Calif. or the MD's will never knowhow to help us.
