Shopping Addiction Support Group

I hate seeing posts with no replies. I no what you're going through. I shop and hide it or fib and hide receipts. I hate it and don't understand why I do it. You're so not alone.

right there with you and the secret thing is bothering me as well. You know what is funny, I talk to women all the time who "sneak" thigns and it does not seem to bother them. I am worse when I am alone. I have cheated a litle toda. No the best thing to do. I had a little time on my hands and wandered into a store and well you know the rest. Maybe we can get some sort of accountabilty thing started with in this group. Anyone interested?

I think we should do some accountability thing here. I have the same problem. I get so bored and use shopping as a way to fill the time. I try REAL hard to stay out of the stores during lunch (I work next to a mall) and take someone with me when I shop after work at the mall. Hell I can even find stuff to shop for in the grocery store besides the food. I have magazines backed up from at least 3 months ago!

I go into the store for one item and end up spending 50 bucks. I think I just need to stay out of stores, but can't seem to stop. How does this accountability thing work?

Accountability sounds great to me also. I have been holding myself accountable and have been spending less money...I even walked by the romance novals at wal-mart! Huge step!!

I was thinking the accountability-having to answer to smeone might help me and maybe we can help each other. When I shop-and get in trouble I am alone, ect. When I am with friedns/family-I never buy anything. So its secret and they do not really know I have this "problem" So anyone wamt to be my shopping police and I can be yours?
