have u tried any scar reducing creams..like mederma or prefer on...try on of those, they might help..

there isnt much u can do for scars but apparently there are some creams that can reduce thier appearance. I ignore mine personally because there part of who I am. not proud of it but still its part of me now and I live with it. try not cutting and using other methods like twanging rubber bands or something, still stings but wont cause any bodily harm - it should help. of you want a cream to help scaring you will havr to go to a doctor and see what they say or ask a pharmacist, not sure if they will have any but im pretty sure they do!

Whatever you do- don't cut any farther up your leg. I started down by my ankles, but moved up to my thighs because it seemed easier to hide. Bad idea. The cuts are worse, they gape open, and they leave horrible, red, raised scars. The ones on my ankle have healed really well.

Maybe you can try substituting. For example, I sometimes cut because I have so much rage, sadness, and pain that I keep bottled up and at some point, it has to come out somewhere so when something triggers me, it's like a bomb explodes and I want my knife. Talking on the phone, though, helps. Talking to someone who understands SI and and can help you not feel bad about whatever the trigger was (in my case, I got yelled at by a friend once). She went on and on about how it was her fault and she was out of line. Sometimes, if I can't put my finger on it, what it is that is fueling the urge, going out dancing at a place where no one knows you (so you don't feel self-conscious) and dancing till you are too tired to stand helps. That, you can even do in your bedroom if you have a music player.

Coco butter works really well to reduce the appearance of scars. It's helped with my scaring from surgery and picking.

the latest on the market is Bio-oil. But research shows that cocoa butter in butter form, ie in a tub and its pretty hard, nothing like lotion is considerably more effective.

i have Palmers Cocoa Butter, and Body Shop also do one. Both are great.

I used prefer on for my scars... I am going to therapy to avoid a relapse into cutting..it took 4 years for the old scars to fade... but that was with out prefer on... i had newer scars from acne n it worked on that...give it a try

i don't use anything on mine but i do wear short sleeves and let them get sun burned with the rest of me. they look horrible and hurt like a bitch when they are sun burned but then they fade with the burn so they aren't that noticable after two or three bad sun burns.
