I find cutting takes the pain from within, cos i am concentrating on it. like all my focus is on the slices in my skin, the inside pain doesnt seem soo bad. Absolutely a control thing....however sometimes i feel im even loosing that... "

" Its all of it. I dont feel it when I cut, but the pain of healing makes me feel like I'm healing within too. I like to watch the blood drip off my arms, it calms me. But its so much more than that too. "

" If what you mean is what triggers my need/urge to cut, then I'd have to say that it is the buildup of flashbacks and unwanted daydreams associated with the original event. What does it do for me? At this stage there is the memory of the first rush/release I felt when that first time gave me the feeling I was back in CHARGE of my life, the fxxkhexxd was off me and out of my life and my head at least for that moment. It's the feeling of being released from the frustration of powerlessness . "
