Hello as you can probably see in my description my name is Brooke better known as Brookers online i am a 21 year old resident of MA for the moment
you can see a very small portion of what i do here

www.youtube.com/brookers

This i guess you could consider to be my official "coming out" moment because up until now i have not made any public annoncements about the fact that i do have and have been battling with scoliosis for about ten years now.

I tried bracing when i was younger and i didnt like it it was embarasing ( i used to be very shy ) and it hurt and was uncomfortable... i was so happpy the day i threw that away....

I have been seeing a chiropractor now for about 5 years and although he has been helping to keep me in check and limit my pain i am at a stand still now and not getting any better.

My scoliosis is not terrible i have learned to hold myself in such ways that you cannot really tell that i have it and i wear certain clothes that make it less noticable. But when i go to the beach i feel very akward and i feel like i cant wear the clothes i like they dont look right and on top of that i do get very severe pain somedays.

I have found a new system and i have already refered one girl named katie on youtube to try this out and thus far she really likes it she was using a plastic brace before

Its called the spinecor system and i to will be getting it and i will be video documenting the entire process i am also looking for all other people with scoliosis in or around either the Massachusetts area and orthe CA San Francisco or Los angeles area who would be willing to talk to me abouth thier experiences with scoliosis on camera. I am living in MA for a month or so and then going back out to CA. I would like to talk to and film other people with scoliosis and their personal stories and experiences to be a part of my documentary about my progress with the new spinecor brace.

i am really hoping to get the word out about spinecor...surgery is not a suitable option hard plastic bracing just doesnt make sense... and i am hoping to make both those outdated midevil type procedure a thing of the past completely

Please contact me at
BBrodack@gmail.com

if you are interested or KNOW SOMEONE who is interested in possibly doing something for my documentary

thank you
Brooke B

I am here in Tacoma Washington with a doctor who is pioneering a new treatment for scoliosis. He has a patent for Oral Systemic Balance. Basically, the spine and oral functions of the body are interrelated. However, the scoliosis specialists never include the oral skeletal-muscular component when treating scoliosis. My daughter was diagnosed with idiopathic adolescent scoliosis at 12, and is now 13. Her S curve was discovered at 35 degrees and has progressed to 55 degrees in 10 months. She has been scheduled for surgery, but at the insistance of a good friend, we have come to Tacoma to try this pioneering treatment. What the doctor here has told me is that Valentina has a very complicated oral skeletal muscular situation. The orthodontist said the same. Following the bad advice of a dentist, I agreed to have four permanent bicuspids removed from my daughters mouth when she was 11. This caused permanent bone loss in the lower jaw. This caused the lower bite to collapse backward, and the hypothesis that this doctor is working on is that the tongue was pushed backward causing restriction to the throat and affecting her breathing, and to compensate, her automatic system began to shift in order to maintain the all important breathing function. With the use of an oral orthotic, similar to a retainer type appliance, the doctor can use pressure points and jaw position to allow for ease of breathing. I could see the minute the appliance was in her mouth, that she began to breathe easier, color came to her otherwise pale cheeks and her body seemed to relax. We are midway through this experience, but we are going for a correction of the scoliosis, and not just a keeping at bay. Today, my daughter grew one inch ' thanks to the "unwinding" of her spine. Whether this will be permanent is yet to be seen, but we are giving this a try. I can keep you posted. I agree that the bracing and surgery are prehistoric, that we have not advanced in the knowledge of scoliosis in hundreds of years. How can spine doctors not take into account the other end of the spine, which is the jaw and tongue, the strongest muscle in the body, and the throat when considering the overall problem of a patient? If we make progress, I want to be part of your documentary. "
