Hi my name is dani- my mom and sister and now me all have RLS, mine started when i was pregnant with my daughter and that was almost 2 yrs ago...give or take a few months... Anyways my sister, tried a bunch of different medications for her RLS, and found one that works for her... HYDROCODONE (w/codine) although it is addictive... it really works for her bad RLS days/nights , it doesnt work for everyone though cause it dosent work for me... I havnt found me a solution yet, but i thought i would pass along the info that something works , maybe you can ask your doctor and see if you can try it... *dont bother asking your doctor if you have a history of substance abuse or alcohol abuse ...your doctor will tell you no becuase Hydrocodone is habbit forming... but ask you never know it might help you. (love dani)

" I dont feel that this is the way to go. This drug is very addictive and I would not recommend this as a cure for RLS. Mirapex or requip work well and they are doint a lot of research so I am sure tjere will be lots of other options very soon. "

" I am glad to hear that the hydrocodone works for your sister; however one thing to remember is what works for one may not work for another. For instance, I am extremely allergic to codeine and it makes me violently ill.

I hope that you find a med that does work for you. Have you ever had your ferritin level checked (iron deficiency)? You have to request this as it not included in the normal blood work. Anyone with rls the normal ferritin level should be at least 70 or above.

I went to my neurologist last week and when I first went to him my ferritin level was 130 and now it is 50 so he has having blood work done to see what is happening.

Good luck to you and please keep us posted on how you are doing and that you do find relief for your rls.

Charlene "
