Yearly CT scans

I am a 12 year survivor of Renal Cell CA. I have had a CT scan every year since surgery and I was wondering if anyone out there is a long term survivor and if CT scans for life are necessary?
Thanks for any input!

" I would recommend that you keep up with your yearly CT scans. My father-in-law was cancer free for 10 years. He stopped getting his CT scans done after about 4 or 5 years. By the time he got another CT scan done the cancer has spread to both lungs. If they had caught it in the early stages he could have had them removed but now they can't. So please, keep up with your yearly check ups. "
