Hello. I am the mother of a 3 year old with Renal Tubular Acidosis (RTA). She was diagnosed with the illness when she was just under a year and has been taking a liquid medication since then. The doctor has gradually increased the dosage over the past two years and she now takes about 2 oz 3 times a day. My current strategy has been to mix the solution with a kiddie yogurt, but she has now begun ...

I haven't written in a while....so I thought I would give an update. My TSH went up to 7.5, and they decreased my PTU to 100mg/day. With the dose change, a month later it was still around 7, and I am feeling bad again. Not really hypo or hyper....just bad. I go to see my endocrinologist on Monday, and I hope he has something helpful to say besides "RAI". ...1 Comment -

Today is Sunday and the sky here is gray and gloomy. We were supposed to go to the spray park for a picnic and now it is raining. I want to say that he is having a fairly good day, minus the rain. but we will make u for it tonight with a few games of bowling. James realllly likes to bowl and he is actually pretty good. I've been trying all day to prepare myself mentally for the next four days to work my 12 hour shifts after not working since the end of April. Then today I had a counseling appointment, and we talked about the man I was seeing who suddenly dropped me because of his PTSD. acids into the urine, which causes a person’s blood to remain too acidic. Without
proper treatment, chronic acidity of the blood leads to growth retardation, kidney
