Live in Pittsburgh, and I'm grateful for we have terrific medical opportunities and cutting edge research. I am still involved in a Phase one study of a test medication that was infused two weeks ago. I felt no ill effects at all. I saw the study advertised on this site and if you are local or nearly so I recommend it.
Since there is so little to slow this progression down short of good luck, I cling to these kinds of opportunities. I was diagnosed a yr. ago but found that in retrospect I had it since 2005. I received chemo in 2004 and before starting that my lungs were fine. The subsequent yearly CT scans showed it but unfortunately neither the oncologist nor the PCP bothered to tell me. I truly think these reports come to their office and they are just added to your chart by clerks without review by the MD in charge. Sad to say but I think it's true. I have been on osygen since last Oct. @ nite and with exertion since July. I have been told chemo was not the cause, but I have my own opinion on that. I advise you all to demand a copy of EVERY test, xray, scan for your personal viewing and if you don't understand the lingo call the doctor that the report went to and demand answers. You are in charge. It is your body and you have the most to lose if they flub it.
