Pain in the lungs

I have not been able to sleep tonight as I've had pain in my lungs tonight. It doesn't seem to matter which way I lay. I'm in an elevated hospital bed and on oxygen. I have a pulm doc appt on Mon I was DX in May with an open lung biopsy for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. The pain feels like a knife when I breath in. If I take shallow breaths it doesn't hurt so much but, I don't think I get enough oxygen. I think I'll take an extra dose of Gabapentin and try to get some sleep. Tom

" I am sorry about the pain you are expereincing. My dad was Diagnose in 2005 and I 've never heard of him complaining of pain in his lung. could it be related to your biopsy?
I would call the doctor's office and let them know.
I wish you luck.
Nazy "

" My Pulm Doc doesn't think the pain is something to worry about as I had a fall about a week before he said I maybe pulled a muscle. I get light headed and fall frequently. Tom "
