hx of PE after c-section, wanting another baby

I have two children from my first marriage ages 9 and 11. My current husband and I have a 22 month old and we are wanting another baby. My question is it okay to have another baby given my history and how great of a risk is it for both me and the baby?

" They will probably put you on lovenox for the whole 9 months and a little after the baby is born. I'm not sure of the exact risk but I know they put you on the lovenox to prevent a clot which could cause complications. My gyno didnt act like it was a big deal as long as I got on the shots but she stressed as soon as I found out I was pregnant to come to her to get me on the shots. "

" Hi Suzieq29- Unfortunately, I'm struggling with some similar questions myself. I had a PE after a C-section in Oct 07. After reading much of the discussions on this site, I'm beginning to believe I'm in major DENIAL! It doesn't help that the PE was so small that hospital doctors were split as to whether it actually was a PE!!! Regardless, my OB said I have to go on Lovenox shots or Heparin shots for the whole 9 months if I get pregnant again (as MSM24 indicated), and if I refuse to go on the shots he WILL NOT see me as a patient (his response to me being in DENIAL!)- so I guess this is an indication of how serious and important it is. I'm in the midst of researching some more about this.... I'm hoping that talking to more pregnant women with PE history will give me some insight, and I hope to get some answers here. My husband and I want other children too. Good to know I'm not the only one with a lot of questions! "

" I was pregnant and diagnosed with a PE at 33 weeks. I'd be happy to relate my experience if you are looking for information or maybe an idea of what to expect. "
