Lupron shots after having a radical proststectomy

I'm 72 and had a radical prostatectomy 7 years ago Feb and 4 months later my PSA started back up. I then had 34 radiation treatments. My PSA stayed around 0 for 5 years or so and then started up, doubling and then increased 4 fold or more. It was 4.8 when I had my first 90 day Lupron shot. My PSA went down to .8 and I had a second 90 shot and it stayed at .8. My urologist wants me to have another Lupron shot. Because of bad side effects I have refused a third shot, but agreed to try Casadex for 90 days and then have mys PSA checked again. I'm interested in communicating with anyone who has had a similar experience or anyone who has advice.

" Well, the only side effects I had from Lupron were the hot flushes and of course, ED. It was a 4 month shot which lasted for 7. It was given to me to shrink my prostate so that I could have brachytherapy. Didn't shrink enough so I had external radiation. That was almost 2 years ago and my PSA is now 1.6. I get checked every 3 mos.
I drink 8 oz of pomegranate juice every day as there is a lot of evidence in various journals and magazines that it helps to keep cancer at bay. Large amounts of broccoli, espcially broccoli sprouts contain sulforophane, an anti-cancer plant nutrient which I also consume along with lots of tomato products containing lycopene, also a possible anti-cancer nutrient.
Casodex will probably give you the same grief as Lupron - hot flushes and ED.
I'm also 72. "
