side effects of prostate removal

My fiance' had his prostate removed last November. He still has no feelings of arousal even though he had nerve-sparing surgery. I'm really concerned about his emotional well-being with this.

I have spoken with his doctor's nurse and they seem to think that he needs to speak with someone - therapy wise.
He doesn't even want to try; any suggestions??
