anyone used herbal for treatment

My husband of 37 years was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
The Gleason score is:
80% 4-3=7 right side
60% 3-4=7 right side
it goes done traveling to the left side.

He does not want me to be concerned or him; he has always been there for me with my numerous medical problems. He seems to be yelling at me a lot, this is not the way he is.

He is going the alternative way, taking numerous herbs and antioxidants.

My question is has anyone done the herbal way to cure the cancer? Do I need to be concerned?

" I'm not sure I understand the Gleason.
My Gleason is 3 on each side, 6 total. I thought 6 was the top on each side.

I'm using a couple of herbs, mushroom capsules actually, and the PSA has remained stable. I think herbs are sometimes able to control the cancer, but not cure it. If it is stage one and not aggressive, I think it is a good way to go, but it will not make it disappear.

Good luck! "

" this is the gleason scale Steve was given.

3 + 2 = 5 or
2 + 3 = 5

3 + 3 = 6

3 + 4 = 7 or
4 + 3 = 7

4 + 4 = 8 or
3 + 5 = 8

4 + 5 = 9 or
5 + 4 = 9

The order of the numbers matters and can affect treatment outcomes.

Thanks Jeff for repling to my post

" If your gleason score is 7, I would not go the herbal route. Individuals react differently to all supplements or even prescription drugs. At age 37, which is very young for someone with prostate cancer, medical help should be sought. Do not wait until the cancer possibly spreads because then, it may be too late to save you life. "

" I was yelling at my wife to. I almost went the alternative natural way.

Instead I did IMRT radiation at Pluta Cancer Center which is one of the best in the world and the best in NY.

I decided that integrating processes was my way to go. My Gleason scores were similar. my PSA was between 4-5.

One thing I am concerned about is him going pure natural.

I believe in pure natural for people who are not so much ego driven. There are very few of us like that.

I admit that I am, so I decided to not try pure natural. My wife pestered me into the IMRT enough where I realized there was a reason for it.

If he is yelling at you, then there is obviously a lot of ego that controls him.

Unless he suddenly changes, and I can't imagine that happening- although not impossible, I would definitely do something medical.

The IMRT for me was pretty much smooth sailing.

I still kept my normal life style with work but I made sure that I got lots of rest.

I was on a very well defined regiment of natural medicines with it and know four weeks afterward I feeling weller than well and continue a different regime of natural herbs.

Steve D'annunzio author of the book The Prosperity Paradigm tells in his book how he healed himself naturally of a life threatening throat tumor.

I asked him, when we were together in a recording session, if I should do that for my prostate cancer and told me that he cannot say that I should.

I couldn't understand why he said it then, but know I think I do. He knew where I was. It was important for me to accept that I still a very ego driven person, but to not take it personally.

Your are both in my prayers . "

" Just an update. My PSA was 5.77 before I started mushrooms in early 2007. It went down a little in the spring and summer, to 5.5.

Last summer my enlarged protstate stopped my urine, so I stated taking both Flomax and Avodart. My urologist agreed that the enlarged prostate had little or nothing to do with the tiny cancer. The drugs took care of the urinary problem.

Unfortunately Avodart also masks PSA, making it appear lower, so in October it was 3.98 which was to be expected. SInce then it has continued to go down. Last week it was 3.47. My urologist has come to be a supporter, saying I should keep doing what I am doing because it seems to have things under control.

Sexual function is OK except I don't ejaculate much. "

" cathipurple......my husband had almost the exact Gleason scores with a PSA of 6.11

He just had HIFU surgery in Canada April 27th and is back at work with NO side effects.

He'll have a post surgical PSA the end of July which will, hopefully, confirm that the cancer is gone.

Pls investigate HIFU which might help give you a better alternative with few side effects & more peace of mind. "

" I use did it in conjuction with radiation. It made it much easier and I think it might have actually made the radiation uneccessary. But, I wasn't about to take the chance. "
