Does anyone know how far you can dialate before they send you to the hospital? Last Tues. I was 3centimeters, and I go today inabout 1/2 hour to be checked again. I know he is inducing me on Thrus. but I am so ready to go now!!

I think it is different for every doctor. The hospital I am going to says that at 3cm they will keep me. Sounds like you'll be seeing your baby soon! Congrats!!

I am having a C-Section and I know once you hit 3cm they send you to the hospital if a vaginal birth they wait until you go into labor.

My doctor's policy with a vaginal birth is that they won't admit you until you have been having contractions that are 5 minutes apart, lasting for at least 1 minute for an hour even if you have dilated. I had a friend who was 3cm dilated for 2 weeks before going into active labor. Good luck to you. Hope your baby comes soon!

my doc is just like lisabk. right now i am dialated to a 4 almost 5, but because my contractions are still pretty irregular and not strong enough my doc keeps sending me home. if i make it to next monday i will be enduced. but i don't think i will.

With my second I was dialated 2cm for a month before she came. lisabk's Dr. sounds like mine. Unless you are having contractions regularly they won't admit you here. Hopefully your wait won't be too long though. Good luck and happy pushing!!!
