I keep getting told oh a boy is best and then others say girls. Does it really matter what it comes out to be as long as it is healthy and everything goes well? I was just curious if this ever got on anybody elses nerves?

Each has so many goods to them that it's fun either way. Plus everyone's experiences with their own boys or girls is unique so it's kinda hard for someone say one sex is "better" than another for everyone LOL. I'm HOPING for a girl only because I already have a step son and a 4 year old son of my own... if it's a boy I'm sure I'll "manage" LOL.. (I just might be more prone to wanting to try one more time for a girl... oh my poor hubby... lol)

I agree with you, as long as the baby is healthy that is all that matters. Yes boys and girls do have different qualities, but as mommys we love them no matter the sex, temperment, or how much easier one is to raise than the other. I now have 2 boys and 1 girl, I just had my little guy on 7-17-08 and I love all my children the same.

I think each age brings different challenges for boys and girls-- and also different joys. I have have both and I can honestly say I don't care what I get this baby is as long as she/he is healthy. I thought it was a bit offensive though when people said "Oh you must be hoping for a boy" when I was pregnant with my son. I know they were well meaning, but I couldn't help but to think how awful it would be to have people think I would be disappointed if I had had a girl.

everyone is doing that to me and I tend to get mad and walk away from them so I don't hit them.

I dont care who we have honestly.. i hear it all as well.. and truthfully.. i was easier to raise then my 2 brothers were.. but every one is different i think it comes to the parenting as well alot of times. i will love this kid no matter boy or girl.. and teach them the same way. my husband originally wanted a boy first.. but that was because he wanted another protector for the family. then realized that if the mother can kick ass.. the daughters can be raised to do the same.. now he doesnt care who we are having.. course.. he knows who we are having and i dont.. but thats another story. i agree with sadbelly..there are challenges and joys for each... sadness and elation..the gambit of emotions for both.. it doesnt matter what is between their legs.

This is my opinion and a very strong one at that. It's not intended to offend anyone in any way. A baby is a precious miracle from God or whichever superior being you believe in. No one sex is "better" than the other. We all just need to be thankful that we have this special gift. Many of us (including my husband and I) suffered through painful years of trying to conceive only to do so through medical intervention. When you go through something like that, you come to realize that it doesn't matter if it's a boy a girl or one of each. It is a true miracle that you have been blessed enough to have this little miracle come into your life. God bless each of us during our pregnancies!
