It has been so long since I bought anything for a baby (7 years to be exact) that I forget what stuff I need. So far here's my list:

wash cloths
towels
soap
shampoo
lotion
clothes (lots of them)
socks
diapers
wipes
diaper rash cream
bottles
formula
diaper bag
pacifiers
grooming set
travel system

what I already have:
crib
dresser/changing table
high chair
bouncy seat
clothes
rocking chair

can you think of anything I am forgetting?

" I couldn't live without a swing for my first child so we definately have one this time again. What about little hand mittens? I also bought these swaddlers for my baby. They are like blankets except designed to swaddle and hold your baby in tight. I loved those too with my first.Sounds like you got all the basics. Baby monitor? I got everyting I could think of like a bottle warmer, even a dishwasher safe holder for nipples and such. Gripe water is really good to have on hand. Iused it with my daughter after she was born and it really helped with her gas and discomfort! I have two bottles bought inpreparation for this baby! I have a diper pail as well very handy. If your going to have a winter baby car seat covers or bundle bags are great. "

" If your car seat is 7 years old, it should be replaced. I think they recommend replacing it if it's 5+ years, but I have also heard if you check the manufacturing date on it, it's ok as long as it isn't 6 years past manufacture. I think it has to do with some of the materials breaking down as well as shifts in safety/industry standards. Do you have a pack and play if you are going to travel? Otherwise, the list looks good for a newborn! "

" I always get all the baby meds you may need. And thermomiter! You have to be able to know if your babys got a fever. Umm yeah so i had like gripe water, which helps with gas and has no alchohol in it. And baby tylenol in case of fever. Cause whenever you need that stuff, the stores are closed! "
