Hey everyone, I had my first ultrasound this week. I'm 10 weeks, the Dr. said she thinks she see's another baby, but it's too small and too soon to tell. If there are two babies, and I'm 10 weeks shouldn't both babies be visibly clear?

" oh yes...
very possible... they hide all the time I hear.

and when they are that small.. it is hard to jam the u/s wand hard enough to get behind one baby to look inside the pelvis.

congrats! "

" It is very possible! Twins often devolop a little differently and one might be a little smaller than the other from this point all the way to birth. One sometimes hides behind the other too.

Were there two heartbeats? Often it is easier to tell if it's twins based on heartbeat.

How exciting! I wish I were having twins (I doubt it because there are NO twins in either family). Best wishes to you! "

" Not at all. My doc thought there was an extra one with me too but we had to wait for my second ultra to make sure and also they kept watch with my blood to see how large the # was. GOOD LUCK "

" Yes, this can occur. You'll need to wait until 14 (ish) weeks to get an accurate ultrasound. Have your OB use a fetal doppler to see how many heartbeats there are...this might give you a starting point. "
