flying while pregnant

OK, so i've heard different opinions about this....is it safe to fly while pregnant? i've read most websites where it said yes, esp in your first trimester. but then i read one post where a girl said that she had a few friends who all miscarried resulting from flying in the first trimester. if i take a plane instead of driving, i'll be 10 wks pregnant at that time. i have had a miscarriage in the past, so i'm nervous, esp if i'm able to prevent it and just drive. what do you think?

" That's a good question. Everything I've heard has said it's safe to fly while pregnant. I did have a miscarriage with my first pregnancy, and flew twice in a short period of time early on. I'm guessing it was just coincidence, though. "

" If you have a completely healthy pregnacy with no complications you can fly. I took 2 VERY long flights (8+ hours)with both my pregnancy. Just have to remember to get up and walk around the cabin if possible if not move your legs a lot. Drink plenty of water. "

" I read about this in detail and all recommendations say it is safe unless you fly very much - like 18 coast to coast round trips would get you half of the amount of radiation that is considered the lowest possibly harmful dose. I flew when I was 5w, 10w and 12w. I'm now 13w and everything looks OK. The m/c and flying are not related, I think. It is just that there are a lot of m/c anyway so some of these people likely also flew before the m/c. "
