OK, so i've heard different opinions about this....is it safe to fly while pregnant? i've read most websites where it said yes, esp in your first trimester. but then i read one post where a girl said that she had a few friends who all miscarried resulting from flying in the first trimester. if i take a plane instead of driving, i'll be 10 wks pregnant at that time. i have had a miscarriage in the past, so i'm nervous, esp if i'm able to prevent it and just drive. what do you think?

That's a good question. Everything I've heard has said it's safe to fly while pregnant. I did have a miscarriage with my first pregnancy, and flew twice in a short period of time early on. I'm guessing it was just coincidence, though.

If you have a completely healthy pregnacy with no complications you can fly. I took 2 VERY long flights (8+ hours)with both my pregnancy. Just have to remember to get up and walk around the cabin if possible if not move your legs a lot. Drink plenty of water.

I read about this in detail and all recommendations say it is safe unless you fly very much - like 18 coast to coast round trips would get you half of the amount of radiation that is considered the lowest possibly harmful dose. I flew when I was 5w, 10w and 12w. I'm now 13w and everything looks OK. The m/c and flying are not related, I think. It is just that there are a lot of m/c anyway so some of these people likely also flew before the m/c.
