They finally emailed me about her hemangioma surgery scheduled on 10/23/08. Dealing with the stares has been a large reason behind my postpartum depression. I wish the whole process did not take that long. I did get stronger in the process and I learned lots about self-esteem and social interactions. I still dont wish it to anyone to deal with. I felt robbed of my "perfect child" experience. Nobody is perfect. This ordeal was a big wake up call. At least we got the best team of pediatric plastic surgeons.

" well now you have the surgery scheduled and can focus on helping your daughter through it. Some people are just jerks, but it will be better soon.

" People are rude, just down right mean, when you have a child that has a medical condition. I had a child with plagiocephaly (he wore a helmet). I know the stares are just miserable to deal with, but today you are one day closer to your beautiful daughters surgery. "
