Has anyone claimed compensation from the criminal injuries compensation authority (in uk) for PTSD through an assault reported to police? Im not sure if there is a similar claim system in the US.

I am not from the UK, I'm in USA.
17 years have passed since my Trauma, so I don't even know if I could get compensated by a Civil Suit. Definitely I cannot get Criminal Charges b/c of the Statute of Limitations.
