about one year ago, my boyfriend had to leave his apt and move in whith his mom, she had a massive heart attack. ever since then ive noticed slowly that he is different, mom is a very domineering person. he is an only child, i know he is very deppressed, she treats him like a child. i just spent 3 very long days there and im sooo glad to be home. do you think you can get PTSD from that situation? i realy think you can. anyone know? i know i have it from all the bad sturff that ive been through. anyone dnow or have simmilar sitcuation?

" Not sure, depends on his signs and symptoms and how the 'domineering' has affected him.

It could just be depression...Men experience Depression a little differently than Women.

Check out www.sidran.org for more info on PTSD.

Also, my 11/3/07 Journal Entry has lots of info and resources on PTSD and Sexual Abuse. It's open to the public. There are 2 entries, one PTSD, the other SA. "

" Yeah, check out Sidran for symptoms.

It *IS* possible. In fact, it is possible for someone without PTSD to get it as a response to dealing with someone they love having PTSD.

Also, it appears that it is a later in life trauma that pushes one over the edge and makes PTSD finally appear even if it didn't appear after the original trauma. Low cortisol levels can also be a PTSD factor. "
